Before joining us, our client had a 'traditional' manual accounting arrangement. At the end of every year the books and records would be sent off to the accountant and a few months later the trading results would be known and the tax bill calculated.
Upon being engaged by the client we implemented a computerised accounting system. The benefits to the client are that firstly they now have up to date financial information. Their accounting function is now more efficient, meaning cost and time savings. For example they can easily identify customer debts and routinely send out customer statements and collection letters. This means that money is being received sooner and cash flow is improved.
With the up to date information we can work closely with the client at regular meetings. This allows us to effectively advise on current issues being faced by the business, for example product profitability.
In addition, we can predict the tax liability in advance of the year end and work towards reducing the liability by advising on capital investment, pension contributions or other expenditure that may attract tax relief.
